This is Venom's coming-out party." When asked to confirm if what Serkis was implying was that Venom was not a straight alien symbiote as was "actually coming out," Serkis responds, "Well, coming out, being out" before acknowledging that a line from the character points to him "speaking for the other." "What is interesting is that it's just like, here he is kind of, he says in the movie, 'We must stop this cruel treatment of aliens.' He said, 'You know, we all live on this ball of rock,' you know? And so he inadvertently becomes a kind of he's speaking for the other. "Well, Tom and Kelly were always about Venom coming out and going to a party that was a very sort of an LGBTQIA kind of festival, really, I'd call it, and so this is his coming out party basically. That's when the director shared that Hardy and co-writer Kelly Marcel had wanted the scene to be a "coming out" event. And so Tom got in touch with her and that song became sort of the focus," Serkis said. "She actually had made a song, unbeknownst to her, called 'Venom' that connected very much with the first movie. In an interview with Uproxx, Andy Serkis spoke about the film's rave scene, which he shared had originally been set in a "carnival of the damned" but evolved thanks to star Tom Hardy's relationship with rapper Little Simz, who appears as herself in the movie. It doesn't help that Venom's first reaction to seeing Carnage is to completely freak out and shrink back inside Eddie all the while screaming that this one is red and genuinely believing that they have absolutely no chance against it There's some sort of insinuation that red symbiotes may actually be somewhere far higher on the pecking order as far as strength level, and indeed, compared to Веном (2018)'s villain, Carnage makes Riot look absolutely harmless in comparison, but otherwise nothing else is deliberately said on the notion. What's more, Carnage in the film has a visceral design that looks like a flayed human rather than the smooth and slimy look all other symbiotes have, and the transformation between Kasady and Carnage is more jerky and contains more Body Horror. While Carnage is clearly an independent party from even Kasady (of whom it was merely an extension of in the comics due to being mixed with his blood) and refers to Venom as its father, Venom never seems to realize that any of itself is missing and never explains how symbiotes reproduce. Here, it seems to be a cocktail of the Venom symbiote and Eddie's blood that Kasady eats. Carnage's status as an independent symbiote versus being a distorted clone of Venom - a Dissertation: The Carnage symbiote in the comics is the asexually produced spawn of Venom that was mixed with Cletus Kasady's bloodstream shortly after it was born.
